Christmas Carolling With A Heart

Christmas holiday was just around the corner and nothing sets the mood better than caroling. Better yet, caroling to spur donations from staff to celebrate the spirit of giving …. contributing to the society while enjoying the melodious serenading of Christmas tunes by the staff.

CSR Committee members & volunteers belted out Christmas Holiday Tunes to raise funds for charity on 18, 21 & 22 December last year. The 16 volunteers dressed up in red or green with reindeer antlers, which made the choir group look put together and fitting to the occasion. This year, the choir was well equipped with musical instruments like guitar, cajn and bells to keep the carolling lively and rhythmic. They have practiced the songs for several weeks back and were ready to entertain while spreading the joy and warmth of the Christmas season. It was their hope that staff would be generous enough to dig deep into the pocket and helped raise funds for the SPD (formerly known as Society for the Physically Disabled).

The choir went to the various departments, and brought smiles to the faces of those present. The audience loved every note as administrative assistant Stephanie Yong quipped, "It really starts our holiday.”

Choir member Espiritu Virgilyn Batang, a two-year veteran of the group, said performing at this time of year "feels really good inside."

Another satisfied Choir member Sebastian Ng added that music is powerful, and it can bring people together. "It's really an amazing feeling to come together as a group and share the joy of Christmas through singing”, he said.

Hence, this Christmas, the CSR Committee has pledged to help spread the message of love and to gift a smile to every staff while advocating generosity through donation to the needy and the underprivileged.
