Visit to SWAMI Home

23 August 2014

Setsco’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) organised an enriching community event on Saturday morning of 23 August 2014 by interacting with the elderly at the Sunshine Welfare Action Mission (SWAMI) Home. This active is part of Setsco’s initiative to encourage philanthropy and volunteerism through community engagement activities such as this. This year, there had been a substantial increase in the number of volunteers who had came forward and did their bit for the society compared to last year.

Providing residential nursing care facilities, dementia day care and “drop-in/respite day care”, SWAMI currently houses about 200 residents and provide day care services to about 100 elderly folks.

Staff spent the early morning having an entertaining karaoke session, belting out classic dialect hits and cultural songs; some old folks even came on stage to dance with the volunteers. Some of the staff also took time to put their hands and energy to good use by cleaning the wards and beds of the residents ensuring that it remains hygienic and clean for them to reside.

Setsco has since donated 4 washing machines to SWAMI home which benefitted the home and alleviating the burden of the nurses in doing their laundry.

Setsco CSR committee is contented to be able to do her part for the elderly at SWAMI home and will continue to organize such relevant and meaningful community-related activities for its staffs in its bid to strengthen its image as a socially responsible enterprise.
