SETSCO is delighted to announce the acquisition of An Security on 1st August 2023. With the acquisition, SETSCO’s diversification into the technology industry has been realised and its capabilities have expanded to satisfy the growing demands of the rapidly emerging technology sector. An Security’s primary business is in Information Technology security evaluation and testing services for cybersecurity products such as smart devices, as well as consultancy services in this domain. Their expertise and knowledge of the trends in the technology sector will serve SETSCO well in assisting customers both within and beyond the technology industry.
With four decades of experience in the testing, inspection and certification (TIC) industry, SETSCO constantly monitors the latest industry trends and government regulations closely. In doing so, SETSCO is able to foresee the growing trends and build up its capabilities to be able to present customers with effective solutions to meet industry and regulatory requirements. Common Criteria
Common Criteria (CC), also known as ISO/IEC 15408, is a globally recognised technical standard for IT security evaluation. This certification is for commercial IT products targeting the international marketplace. It provides consumers with a wider choice of CC certified IT products to choose from with the assurance that the product’s security evaluation is carried out consistently and impartially according to international standards. It also benefits developers with market access without the need for duplicated evaluation and enables them to develop more secure products to differentiate themselves from their competitors.
National IT Evaluation Scheme
The Singapore National IT Evaluation Scheme (NITES) is targeted at all products intended for use in the handling of sensitive government data and adopts the same evaluation methodology as the CC certification. NITES offers consumers with the assurance that security measures provided by the product is able to safeguard highly classified information. It also helps developers to meet policy requirements for government procurement.
Cybersecurity Labelling Scheme (CLS)
A first in the Asia-Pacific region, the Cybersecurity Labelling Scheme (CLS) comprises of different levels of cybersecurity ratings to provide an indication of the level of security embedded in a device. Besides giving consumers visibility over the security level, CLS helps consumers make security-informed purchase decisions without compromising their cyber safety. CLS also helps developers to maintain transparency about the product’s security features and align expectations between customer and vendor.
